All parents/guardians interested in the French Immersion Program at St. Marguerite d’Youville must apply online by completing and submitting the YCDSB French Immersion online application (click the link) by January 20, 2023. French Immersion programs are designed to provide non-francophone children with a high degree of proficiency in the French language. Students currently in Senior Kindergarten at St. Marguerite d’Youville and siblings of students in French Immersion Program must also apply online to indicate interest. Following January 20, 2023, applications received by that date will be prioritized as follows:
- Siblings of students presently in the French Immersion program;
- Students within the school’s French Immersion boundary;
- Students outside of the French Immersion boundary but within York Region;
- Students from outside York Region.
If the number of applications exceeds the number of available openings, a public lottery process will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. via Google Meet on Thursday, January 26, 2023. Approved applicants will be notified by the school via email by Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Parents/Guardians must indicate acceptance of placement by completing required forms no later than Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Students who apply following January 20, 2023 will be placed on the bottom of each tier of the lottery waitlist, if one is needed. All applications after January 20, 2023 will be accepted at the home schools.
