Our first Mass for the school year is on October 16 at 10:45 am.  It is for the Feast Day of St. Marguerite d’Youville and therefore very special for our school.

Once again, SMD will have a Terry Fox Run/Walk on September 27 to raise money for cancer.  Terry Fox was such an inspiration of courage and strength that we would like to remember him every year. We would appreciate any donation our families can give for this important cause.

Our parents and guardians are very welcome to attend our Curriculum Night on September 20 at 7:00 pm. Classroom teachers are offering two 30-minute sessions to parents to present the curriculum topics and expectations for your child’s school year.  It’s an important event for all our parents and guardians to attend.

On September 18 at 1:15 pm, the school will have our first Liturgy of the Word in the gym for the students, staff and any parents/guardians who would like to attend.   The liturgy will offer special prayers for a former teacher of SMD, Mrs. DeNoble, who passed away in August.  Please keep Mrs. DeNoble in your thoughts and prayers.

Welcome back to school to all our families and a special welcome to our new families.  We are looking forward to a wonderful school year.  On the first day of school, you will receive the September newsletter and calendar for important information about St. Marguerite d’Youville CES and upcoming events.  Please check your child’s schoolbag regularly for school communication.

The last Mass of the year will be on June 22th at 1:30 pm at OLA Church, and led by our grade 8’s.  It’s a wonderful way for our students to celebrate the successes and learning of this past year and to wish the grade 8’s the best of luck in high school.
