This year, Halloween will take place at St. Marguerite d’Youville on Friday, October 29. Children are invited to wear a Halloween Costume or dress in orange and black. Parents/Guardians, please ensure that your child’s costume does not depict violence, is trauma sensitive, does not represent a cultural group or ethnicity and is appropriate for a Catholic school. In addition, as per the School Messenger email sent out on Friday, October 1, we have been informed by York Public Health that inflatable costumes are not permitted once again this year. As always, your child should not carry a replica weapon to school (i.e. sword/knife/gun, etc.). Make-up will be allowed as part of a costume; however, no costume masks that hide a child or adult’s face will be permitted. We should always be identifiable in our community so we can avoid having unwelcome guests. Students are still required to wear their cloth or medical masks as per COVID-19 protocol. For the safety of all, students are not to bring any treats or food to school for the whole class.
On Friday, October 29, students will have the opportunity to participate in a Halloween Dance! Classes have been assigned 20 minute individual blocks throughout the day. The only exceptions are our FDK (Ms. Lambrinakos and Ms. Gall) and Grade 1 (Ms. Iannuzzi and Mme. Simone) students, who will have the divider down in-between the classes during the dance. All current school COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place during the dance.
