French Immersion programs are designed to provide non-francophone children with a high degree of proficiency in the French language. While any exposure to a second language is beneficial, French Immersion broadens and deepens that exposure. In addition to its excellent English program, St. Marguerite d’Youville C.E.S. offers an Early French Immersion Program. The September 2020 online application process for French Immersion will be open as of November 13, 2019 (online application available from November 13 to January 24, 2020 at www.ycdsb.ca). A parent information night will be held on Thursday, November 28 at 7:00 p.m. to inform parents/guardians about our Grade 1 French Immersion Program. Transportation will be provided to French Immersion Students living within St. Marguerite d’Youville’s French Immersion Boundary. Students in Grades 1-3, residing 1.2 km beyond the school and within the French Immersion boundary will receive transportation. Students in Grades 4-8, who live beyond 1.6 km and live within the French Immersion transportation boundary will receive transportation.
